Well here comes 2014 whether we're ready or not.  It's amazing how after you hit fourty the years fly by.  I can still remember when I couldnt wait to be 13, then 21, and then oh my where did the time go.
January 6th is my day, I have a request to make... I have only received one card since I started making cards a few years back and it was from a Canadian friend Judy Curtis.  Thanks Judy. This is the lovely card she made for me.
So now I have a request, since my birthday is coming up...Could I have my friends who craft and make cards to send me a card or tag, your choice and I will hang or tack them up in my craft room as inspiration, please... At the end of January, I will then draw from the names a prize winner for a package that I will be putting together through the month. Stamps, embellishments, who knows what will be included.  So here is my name and address, surprise me...Tag or card

Happy Holidays

First I want to say I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.  We are so blessed with a wonderful family, and not having to go hungry and be without. I Thank God for his bountifulness and all he does for us everyday.

I do a lot of ordering online for my crafting supplies.  My back and legs don't do too well these days, and even using my walker wears me out.  I hate being pushed in a wheel chair because its just not fun. So I am constantly ordering online so it seems.  One of my favorite crafting goodies is my dies, oh I think I love them all, and of course I love glitter and my inks, flowers, papers.  Oh I could go on and on...
I recently was online and got a message where something had been shipped, well now, I couldn't remember ordering, so I got checking it out.  An order from two months ago had shipped, and I wont say where from, but I can GUARANTEE I wont be ordering from the company again. It was the 2nd order with them that I had placed, I recall the first order took like two weeks.  When it comes to my toys, I don't like to wait, like the commercial says, its my money and I want it now. If they had only told me that there would be a delay, I could have been prepared.. Sorry, its just the way I am, impatient.. And they are having a black Friday sale, I wouldn't order if it was 80 % off, no I wont order...

I wanted to share with you a company I recently found by accident. They are out of Lakewood, New Jersey and new to Facebook.  I have ordered from them and they ship FAST, their prices are low, and shipping fee's LOW, and they carry MANY brand's of dies. And its VERY easy to navigate their online store.  If you go to their FB page, please tell the I (Patti Doss) sent you. Sign up for their mailing sub and they will send you a percentage off in your email. Like their page and start saving...Till next time..Hugs..Patti

Shabby and Vintage

I must admit I believe shabby and vintage is my favorite type of cards and tags to make.  Why?  I don't really know except I like the look and feel...
This card I made this evening I will be putting in two challenges, Word Art Wednesday  Challenge #104 Anything Goes. And also over at House of Cards Month Four: Shabby and Vintage.
I began by folding a 11 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet of pale yellow card stock. I then layered a green piece of card stock, and  topped that with white card stock. My top layers are from The Paper Studio from the paper stack called Mirabelle..

I cut and distressed the edges with my scissors, the color was like a pale rust.  The next layer,  I layered horizontal was a deeper rust,  I would call a rust red. Again distressing with scissors.I kept layering, finishing off with a flag cut freehand with the deeper red rust color.

I had a lace flower I had made and distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink Vintage Photo, I added a onyx type button from LeBouton, and a stick pin I made of different gem beads. Used the hot glue gun to add on.
To add a little extra bling I added some half pearls in white.

Thanks for looking.. xoxo Patti
